Lots of Circles

I do like it when I find exactly the off-cut of printed card in my stash that I'm after!  I've made this circle card with a compass and made it the size I needed for the different elements.  Used Spellbinder dies for the shapes and found the button in my stash - it wasn't the shape I was after but the colour was perfect so it got added anyway!

The image is Party Hat Birdbrain - From The Heart digi stamps and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus some glossy accents and glitter glue.  I've also added liquid pearl dots around the edge of the card and also the three elements on the card.  The sentiment came with the image.

Birthday Gifts

For once I'm ahead of myself although I did leave this card to the last minute to make! I've used a pre-coloured Lily of the Valley image and added glitter here and there.  Layered onto silver and red card and I've added two little Memory Box star dies with half pearls for detail.

I've added liquid pearl dots around the edge of the card and also the image and to finish I've added a large gingham bow.

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 88 - Small and Cute

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

Small and Cute

I've made this little set of cards using a cute Jellypark image - Penguin With Woolly Hat, coloured them with Promarkers, embossed the card blank with Swiss Dots, added a handcut and inked snow mound background (plus a little sparkle!) and then hand wrote the Sizzix tag, tied together with matching embroidery thread and an iridescence snowflake.

The card blanks were off-cuts from other card blanks plus I have a pile of little envelopes (bought a fair few packs of Christmas cards in the sales for next to nothing!) So cute!  Good luck with the challenge - for more details, pop over to the challenge blog.

Tea Will Make It Better

I do like the sentiments from the Tea Time Set!  Great for quick cards and for using up scraps!  The set - you get lots - is only £5 in the Dr Digi store.

I've used an X Cut fancy die to cut the sentiment, added a scrap of rope - recycled from a clothes tag and used up some scraps of printed paper from another project.  I've distressed the edges to give it a more rustic look and added some half pearls from my stash.

First Day At School

I'm a little late making this as the recipient actually started school last week! I forget that Scotland goes back to school earlier than we do in England, anyway, I'm sure he'll like it! It's for one of my cousins' kids and it doesn't seem that long ago he was being born! I've used a Tiddly Inks stamp - Geekatude, coloured with Promarkers, along with the blackboard digi (I think its retired as couldn't find it in the store) plus Samantha Walker A to Z papers.

I've handwritten the sentiment tag and added some kraft die cut stars and a cute little ruler charm.  Now must remember to get it in the post to him!

Froche Weihnachten

** Update - I've changed the sentiment on the card after realising I'd added an extra C - I'd randomly printed two sentiments, one correctly spelt and one not and yep, guess which one I added!  Now all changed!! **

I've got a rather long list of Christmas cards on order to make this year so have made a start, and this is one of them. The sentiment is by request as it is to be sent to a German family.  I've used the August progressive challenge digi by From The Heart Stamps - Candy Cane for Snowman.

I've used Promarkers to colour plus watercolour pencils for the background; added glitter glue and glossy accents.  All the coloured card is from a really nice foolscap sized pad from Lidl (25 sheets for £2!) plus a piece of silver card from my stash.  Both pieces have been embossed with Swiss Dots.

I've added ribbon from my stash, the snowflake is a Marianne Creatables die and I've also used half pearls, again from my stash.

Perfect image to use - From The Heart Stamps, Copic Markers Birdbrain for someone who has just been accepted onto a teacher training course!  I've coloured the image with Promarkers, used a blackboard digi from Tiddly Inks and the papers are Samantha Walker - A to Z mega kit.

The wooden stars are from my stash along with the waxed cord (ebay purchases from China!)

Little Cutie

This is the 10th and last card of the 'age 6' batch that I was asked to make.  Used another Lily of the Valley pre coloured square for this, layered onto silver and lilac card and added a little glitter here and there.

Also used a fancy circles Nestie die and an X Cut circle.  Added liquid pearl dots around the edges of the two panels and glitter glue around the image (photo doesn't really show it)  Everything else including the ballerina charm is from my stash.

Gamer

Still trying to use up the cute pre coloured squares from Lily of the Valley - thing is, I have loads so it will be some time before they are down to an acceptable quantity!

This one has been layered onto silver card and blue paper which matches the patterned paper behind.  Stars have been cut with an X Cut die, number 6 is a Sizzix die and the sentiment stamp is from my stash.  Remembered I had the cute little boy charm so that got added too!

Surprised Chick

A quick card from me today made with scraps of printed papers - Echo Park, Summerdays,  that I had to hand so I had to do some clever joining!  Layered the strips and image onto some chocolate brown card from my stash and then added the ribbon.  The button is from my rather large collection and pleased that I found one fairly quickly that matched the colour scheme!

The image is From The Heart Stamps - Surprised Birdbrain and I've used Promarkers to colour - the sentiment came with the image.

Beryl

There is nothing more satisfying than getting out on the open road, the wind in your hair and the feel of all the flies splattering against your goggles.

Luckily this does not deter Beryl the Biker - anything to get away from the rat race!  The digi is available from Dr Digi and I've coloured her with Promarkers, made the road signs from images on the internet (plus one of my own).  Grass is a Marianne Creatables icicles die, clouds are Memory Box dies and I've hand written the banner myself.

I've added a '2015' charm and also a motorbike charm - both from my rather extensive stash!

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 33 - Use Something New

Still time to enter the current Polkadoodle challenge - the theme is:

Use Something New

I'm making a start on my Christmas cards early and have made these three cuties for my three nieces.  I've used the gingerbread image from the Twiggy and Toots Festive Fun cd - simply enlarged it without any quality issues and then added thick liquid pearls, a banner and half pearls.

I've handwritten the banners with their names and used bakers twine from my stash.  I think the girls will like them!

I've found (through trial and error!) that the Papermania own brand of liquid pearls (although around half the price of proper liquid pearls) has a large nozzle so not good for detailed and fine work but great for replica icing!

I coloured the bunting with Promarkers to match the red bows on the gingerbreads.

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

I've printed my rather cute Jellypark snowman directly onto my cardstock shaped the corners  and coloured the image with Promarkers plus a little glitter.

The organza ribbon, bakers twine and charm are all from my stash and I've printed the sentiment using my computer.

Moving On

Another card for someone leaving at work but not really leaving just moving to a different team. Some could say the dark side.....

I've used a fab Jellypark digi - Woman at Desk, coloured with Promarkers.  I've cut the sentiment using Sizzix dies and added some ribbon, embroidery thread and charms from my stash (lucky clover and a stethoscope).

The spotty paper is from Polkadoodles - Serenity CD and I've used some pale lilac card from my stash for layering.  Added dots of liquid pearls around the edges and the card is complete!

Loaded with a 100 watt bulb torch and a walkie-talkie (good for organising his shift-end breakfast) Night Shift Shaun from Dr Digi is ready for any man or animal that dares cross his path during his patrol around the bus shed.

I've coloured him with Promarkers, added to a wallpaper sample background and a hand written sentiment.

Polkadoodles Challenge - Week 31 - More Than One Fold

There is a new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

More Than One Fold

I've made a stepper card and converted it into a number of layers - using the Work and Play 3 download for the man relaxing and the caravan.  I've used Promarkers to colour then added my own handwritten banners plus the bunting.

The grass is a Marianne Creatables die and I've used a Cuttlebug die for the bunting letters.  Various wooden sticks and cocktail sticks have been used to hold up the sentiments.

Good luck with the challenge - pop over to the blog for more details!

We're at the mid way point of the current Simply Create Too challenge and the theme is:

Anything Goes

I've used Promarkers to colour the Tiddly Inks digi (which I think is retired as I cannot find it in the store) and then layered it onto the burlap with foam pads so it stands proud a little.

I've added two brass tiny key charms with gold and white bakers twine and doodled a frame around the edge of the card.

Tweet Birthday Girl

Sometimes cards fall together just right and this one was simply that! I decided to use the Birthday Chicks image from From The Heart Digi Stamps - it was one that I printed off a while ago and had it in my 'to do' box - coloured it with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue here and there.

Cardstock is from The Paper Mill and I've used scraps of printed paper - Echo Park Summerdays (had to use these quite cleverly!  Charm and embroidery thread are from my stash along with the half pearls.

Love Tea

I think this digi must be my favourite. And its so easy to colour and add to a card!  Buy the Cuppa digi from the Dr Digi store.  Fab printed papers are from the Tea and Bickies set - full of lovely biscuits and with zero calories!

Coloured with Promarkers plus a little glossy accents and I've used my X Cut heart dies and added a little spoon charm.

Good Luck

I needed to make a good luck card in a hurry and remembered I had this great little digi - From The Heart Stamps - Wee Bit and Lots O Luck pack - I've just used one of the images included.  Coloured with Promarkers and added to the card with foam pads - doubled up as I used an X Cut die to create a frame and used tiny foam pads to raise that up.

Embroidery thread and waxed kraft coloured twine from my stash and I've created 'pretend' brads with a black marker and glossy accents over the top.

Using Scraps

Another card ticked off the order list!  Made using a lot of scraps - the papers are all from Funky Hand (be quick - closing down sale!) The Funky One cd - it's only 75p! including the number 6 which I've cut using a Sizzix die and glittered it.

Sweet fairy image from Jellypark - Fairy with Wand which I've coloured with Promarkers and added a bit of sparkle.  I've cut the image with a Spellbinder circle die and layered it onto another Spellbinder die - a fancy edged one.

Charm from my rather extensive collection (ebay!) along with half pearls and embroidery thread bow.  The card blank is a piece left over from an A4 sheet of card when making a square card.
